Dr. W. Bruce Wren Food Animal Incentive Award

The Dr. W. Bruce Wren Food Animal Incentive Award aims to support new graduates in their pursuit of careers in food animal clinical practice and related fields such as clinical instruction and applied research. This prestigious award acknowledges the recipients' dedication to advancing food animal clinical practice and research. Each recipient will receive a stipend of $1,000, complimentary registration to the WVC Vegas event, as well as travel and lodging expenses to attend the event held in Las Vegas, Nevada.The award is part of Viticus Group’s commitment to fostering interest among new veterinary graduates in food animal medicine. To be eligible, applicants must have graduated from an AVMA-accredited veterinary college by July 15, 2026, and must currently be engaged in practice at a mixed or large animal veterinary clinic, or enrolled in an advanced training program that focuses on food or fiber production. Applicants are required to submit letters of recommendation from two veterinary mentors, along with a resume and a brief description of their veterinary activities. Furthermore, they must articulate their specific interests in food animal medicine and production, as well as how the award will assist them in achieving their career objectives. The award selection criteria emphasize the application of knowledge to enhance food animal veterinary medicine, with a focus on attendance at the 99th WVC Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, where the award will be formally presented.
