Attendees will have the opportunity to explore and shop for exotic and popular houseplants while connecting with fellow plant enthusiasts. The expo also offers plant-related crafts and free educational sessions, covering topics such as Styling Houseplants, Pest ID and Management, and Tissue Culture Acclimation.The event includes a series of hands-on workshops led by knowledgeable speakers. One highlight is the Terrarium Workshop with Savannah Baas, where participants will create a mini-greenhouse environment using Harmony Foliage begonias. The workshop emphasizes selecting suitable begonia species, soil mixes, and layering techniques for optimal growth. Another exciting session is the Kokedama workshop, also led by Savannah Baas, which introduces the Japanese gardening technique of creating a moss-covered ball of soil that encases a plant's roots. This workshop encourages creativity and allows participants to make stunning displays that can be hung or placed on surfaces. Additionally, there is a Staghorn Fern Mounting Workshop, where attendees will learn to mount Staghorn Ferns, transforming them into living pieces of wall art. Each workshop has a designated class fee that includes plants and all necessary materials.The proud show host, Jeanie Baas, is the owner of Plants Unlimited Inc., specializing in creating healthy indoor spaces through plants. As the founder of Plantmania Expo, she aims to educate and connect the community while celebrating the beauty of plants. Savannah Baas, a young entrepreneur and owner of Plants Unlimited Inc. - Houseplant Boutique, shares her extensive knowledge of indoor plants, particularly focusing on the art of kokedama. Wade Lee, a gardener, educator, and podcaster, brings his expertise in horticulture and community engagement to the event. He tends to the historic gardens at the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens and extends his passion through workshops, plant podcasts, and local plant markets. Together, these speakers offer valuable insights and foster a sense of community among plant lovers, ensuring that everyone leaves with new skills and connections in the world of plants.
