American Bee Research Conference

The 2027 American Bee Research Conference (ABRC) will be held at the Moody Gardens Hotel, Spa and Convention Center in Galveston, Texas. This premier scientific forum is dedicated to the latest advancements in honey bee research, health, and management. The conference spans 2.5 days, running concurrently with the American Beekeeping Federation's Annual Meeting, offering a unique platform for researchers, industry professionals, extension specialists, and stakeholders from across North America to collaborate and exchange knowledge. The event will feature two full days of presentations, followed by a half-day of activities. Keynote sessions will include notable speakers such as Dr. Christina Grozinger from The Pennsylvania State University, who is recognized for her contributions to entomology and pollinator research. Her accolades include being a Fellow of the Entomological Society of America and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, as well as receiving the 2021 National Academy of Sciences Prize in Food and Agriculture Sciences.Additionally, the conference will showcase research from Dr. Sarah Wood, MSc, DVM, PhD, DACVP, who serves as the Research Chair in Pollinator Health at the University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Wood's work focuses on enhancing honey bee health through the optimization of disease management, including studying antimicrobial resistance and improving pesticide risk assessments. The conference aims to foster collaboration between veterinarians and beekeepers, showcasing novel therapeutics and diagnostics that will benefit honey bee populations and, consequently, the agricultural crops they pollinate.
