CypherCon

CypherCon is Wisconsin’s premier technology and hacker conference, held annually at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee. This event brings together cybersecurity professionals, tech enthusiasts, and innovators to share knowledge and explore cutting-edge ideas through engaging keynotes, interactive workshops, and creative challenges. As the largest technology conference in Wisconsin, CypherCon features over 125 presentations focused on technology, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and privacy.

The conference aims to protect human life by ensuring safe and reliable aviation and space operations, emphasizing the importance of secure aviation and defense industries. With a close relationship with Oshkosh’s Experimental Aircraft Association, CypherCon provides a unique platform for the aerospace community to discuss securing various sectors, including aviation, aerospace, defense, and transportation.

At CypherCon, the Application Security (AppSec) community is a focal point, comprising red team hackers (attackers), blue team defenders, and purple team members who enhance collaboration between both groups. Participants learn how to exploit software vulnerabilities as the software attack surface expands, making it a prime target for cyber attacks.

The conference also addresses the growing field of AI hacking, where vulnerabilities in machine learning systems can be exploited. Other critical topics include automotive hacking, which focuses on securing connected vehicles, and biohacking, covering various domains from biotechnology to health hacking. CypherCon is also a hub for defenders, known as the Blue Team community, who share tools and strategies for preventing cyber threats.

The conference features a hacker career village that connects students, professionals, and employers for networking opportunities. Additionally, the conference offers a Cloud Hacking village, discussing both offensive and defensive aspects of cloud security, while exploring the historical context of Cold War espionage in cyber warfare. With expert speakers like Troy Stairwalt, Terryn Valikodath, Ravneet Grewal, Phillip Finucane, and Nathan Lasnoski, CypherCon promises a comprehensive and enriching experience for all participants.
