WASC State Conference

The WASC State Conference, taking place at the Madison Marriott West in Madison, Wisconsin, is designed to educate, engage, and empower young leaders in the state. This premier student leadership experience caters to middle and high school groups, offering a unique blend of leadership learning, competitions, student voice initiatives, elections, and real-world exploration through events like the Future Fair.Participants will have the opportunity to attend interactive breakout sessions that connect to various leadership themes. It's important that these sessions are engaging and participatory, as they are aimed at fostering student leadership skills. While traditional Swap Shop-style sessions are no longer eligible, schools are encouraged to showcase their projects through categories such as Best Project, Scrapbook, or Creative Marketing, allowing students to share their innovative ideas. A crucial aspect of the conference is maintaining a 1:15 adult to student ratio for all registered attendees, enhancing safety and support during the event. It is recommended that students attend different sessions rather than moving as one group, promoting diversity in participation and learning. Participants are expected to adhere to guidelines regarding phone usage, dress code, and overall conduct to maintain a positive and respectful environment throughout the conference. In addition to these guidelines, a block of rooms has been reserved for attendees, ensuring convenient accommodation for all participants.
