The Veterinary Dental Course and Dog & Cat Extraction Wet Lab is an intensive educational opportunity designed for veterinarians looking to enhance their skills in dental procedures. Led by experienced presenters including Brett Beckman DVM, FAVD, DAVDC, DAAPM, Jodi Reed, DVM, and Carolyn Lariviere, DVM, the program is officially sponsored and approved by the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC). This endorsement signifies that the content and presenters have been meticulously selected to provide high-quality education and that the program is recognized for specialist training hours for AVDC-registered residents.This comprehensive course offers a total of 21 hours of RACE Continuing Education (CE), which includes 5 hours of online CE available immediately upon registration, ensuring participants have lifetime access for reference. To maximize the in-person training experience, attendees are required to complete the online course and pass the RACE CE quiz prior to attending the in-person Wet Lab. The in-person segment of the course is structured to cover key concepts in veterinary dentistry, focusing on extraction principles and techniques. Specific topics include mucoperiosteal flaps in dogs and cats, and practical surgical extractions of maxillary 4th premolars, as well as 1st and 2nd molars. Participants will have the opportunity to learn and practice Dr. Beckman's techniques, aimed at improving efficiency and confidence in surgical extractions, while minimizing complications such as root fractures. The course is designed to equip veterinarians with the skills necessary to perform extractions with newfound confidence, making them some of the most proficient in the field. The program will run from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with participants expected to arrive by 8:15 am to ensure a timely start. The first day focuses on the essentials of canine and feline dentistry, while the second day is dedicated to surgical dental extractions for both species.
