The 'Ultrasound-Guided Orthopedic Injection Techniques & Therapies' course is a comprehensive 2-day practical training designed for equine and mixed animal practitioners experienced in ultrasonography. This course aims to enhance the participants' theoretical knowledge and practical skills in performing ultrasound-guided orthopedic injections and ultrasound-assisted surgical techniques, covering all regions of the horse's musculoskeletal apparatus. Utilizing whole horses, the course recreates realistic scenarios that practitioners may encounter in their practice. Additionally, it provides an overview of both conventional and biologic treatment modalities for orthopedic conditions.The course comprises highly illustrated lectures and case presentations focusing on key topics such as maximizing ultrasound machine utility, ultrasound-guided joint injections (including hip and shoulder joints), conventional systemic and intra-articular joint therapies, and the latest advancements in regenerative therapies. Participants will engage in open discussions, allowing them to share experiences and learn from both successes and challenges faced by the speakers. Practical training is a significant component of the course, with participants rotating through various stations to practice different injection techniques under the supervision of specialists. These stations include ultrasound-guided upper limb joint injections and back injections, specifically interspinous and articular facet joint injections. The course fee covers lunches, coffee/tea breaks, extensive electronic course notes, and a certificate of attendance.
