Texas Speech Communication Association Convention

The Texas Speech Communication Association Convention is set to be held at the Hilton Dallas/Rockwall Lakefront in Rockwall, United States. This annual convention invites undergraduate and graduate students to submit scholarly posters, papers, and panel presentations. The submissions can encompass various communication fields, including Communication Studies, Public Relations, Mass Communication, and Performance Studies. The convention encourages a diverse range of methodologies such as qualitative, quantitative, and rhetorical approaches, and it particularly values collaborations between students and faculty.Participants are required to submit their work following specific guidelines, which include a title page indicating whether the submission is a student-only or faculty-student collaboration. The manuscript should not exceed 25 pages, be double-spaced, and adhere to APA style formatting. A blind review process will be conducted on all paper submissions, ensuring fairness in selection. Additionally, the convention will feature an extended abstract/poster session that allows for works in progress, where projects must be visually accessible from five feet away and include essential identification details. Furthermore, student speeches, particularly those from collegiate public speaking courses, are also accepted for the TSCA Excellence in Oratory panel. Selected students must be present at the convention to deliver their speeches. The convention aims to provide students with invaluable experience in presenting their research and honing their skills for future publications and career advancements. The call for submissions is open, and acceptance notifications will be sent out in mid-July 2026.
