Summit for Religious Freedom (SRF)

The Summit for Religious Freedom (SRF) is an annual event held in Alexandria, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., with a virtual attendance option, designed to empower and unify individuals committed to protecting inclusive religious freedom and ensuring church-state separation. This significant gathering is hosted by Americans United for Separation of Church and State (AU) and aims to connect advocates, organizers, experts, and everyday individuals who share a vision of justice and equality.

Participants will engage in discussions surrounding critical issues that intersect with the separation of church and state, including inclusive public education, racial equality, LGBTQ+ rights, reproductive freedom, and civil rights.

SRF serves as a platform where diverse voices come together to strategize and build solidarity against the threats posed by Christian Nationalists and other extremist groups that challenge democratic values. The event fosters an inclusive environment, encouraging participants from various backgrounds—regardless of race, age, gender, sexuality, geography, politics, or ability—to collaborate and deepen their relationships in the fight for religious freedom.

Attendees can expect transformative experiences that equip them with sharper insights and a renewed commitment to advocacy. The Summit features notable speakers including Nadine Smith, John Fugelsang, and Dr. Jemar Tisby, who will share their expertise and inspire action among participants. Through SRF, individuals are urged to not only learn from each other but also to actively contribute to the ongoing dialogue and strategies that will shape the future of religious freedom in America.
