The Scialog event on Quantum Matter and Information aims to unite theorists and experimentalists from diverse disciplines to delve into the intricate world of quantum phenomena such as entanglement. This gathering highlights the significance of contemporary quantum science, which is on the cusp of delivering transformative technologies. However, the path to breakthroughs in areas such as novel quantum materials, precision measurement, sensing, and quantum information is paved with fundamental challenges that researchers must address.

A deeper comprehension of quantum coherence, entanglement, and the shift from quantum to classical behaviors is crucial for advancing the fields of quantum theory, simulations, and experimental design.

At this event, approximately 50 early career faculty members will be invited as Fellows, representing a wide range of academic disciplines, including physics, chemistry, materials science, surface science, applied mathematics, computer science, and engineering. These early career researchers, from their first year on faculty to those recently post-tenure, will collaborate and develop new methodologies to enhance the understanding of the quantum realm.

Additionally, around 10 senior scientists will serve as Facilitators, guiding discussions, outlining major research questions, and assessing proposals. The event will be hosted at The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, United States, fostering an environment conducive to interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.
