ResilienceCon

ResilienceCon is an international conference held annually at the historic Scarritt Bennett Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Established in 2015, the conference promotes strengths-based healing from trauma, focusing on understanding, preventing, and responding to violence and other adversities. This year’s theme is Resilience in Turbulent Times, highlighting the importance of resilience within the context of social justice and community well-being. ResilienceCon adopts a multidimensional and ecological approach to overcoming trauma, incorporating interactive formats that allow for deep engagement among participants.The event targets professionals in social work, psychology, mental health, education, sociology, criminology, women and gender studies, and public health, offering content suitable for varying expertise levels—beginning, intermediate, and advanced. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about evidence-based protective factors contributing to resilience, compare different models and programs, and explore the intersection of resilience and social justice. The conference includes moderated interviews with presenters, audience Q&A sessions, and discussions on practical implementation of projects and interventions. Additionally, ResilienceCon is committed to fostering connections and collaborations among emerging scholars and practitioners, creating a supportive environment for dialogue and innovation.To support participation, ResilienceCon is offering eight scholarships (four for promising scholars and four for promising advocates), which cover registration fees and provide a $200 housing allowance for those traveling from outside the area. This initiative underscores the conference's dedication to accessibility and inclusivity.
