The PTI Seminars will offer a comprehensive 16-hour program focused on the latest developments in tax law. Participants can expect to delve into critical topics such as the application of the OBBBA, strategies for individual taxpayers including reverse mortgages, charitable giving, and capital gains management. The seminar also emphasizes the importance of ethics, providing insights on navigating client misconduct. For small businesses, the event will cover employee tax issues and discuss aspects such as EBLs (Excess Business Losses) and NOLs (Net Operating Losses). An IRS update will address managing client penalties and the MATH Act, along with the process of amending returns.Attendees will receive valuable materials, including a printed copy of the Federal Tax Workbook (FTW), which will be distributed at in-person events. This seminar is sponsored by the Hawaii Association of Public Accountants, ensuring that participants gain relevant and practical knowledge. The event will take place at the Maui Beach Hotel, a venue known for its accessibility and amenities in Kahului, Hawaii. It is important for participants to have at least two years of professional experience in tax return preparation, as well as a solid understanding of basic tax laws, rules, and regulations. Continuing Education (CE) credits will be granted based on a 50-minute hour, in compliance with the standards set forth in Circular 230, section 10.6, and the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.
