National High School Model United Nations Conference

The National High School Model United Nations Conference (NHSMUN) is the world’s largest and most prestigious Model UN conference for secondary school students, taking place annually at the New York Hilton Midtown in New York City. Established in 1975, NHSMUN has garnered a reputation for its exceptional substantive program, attracting a diverse range of talented participants from across the globe.

The conference offers an unparalleled opportunity for students to engage in dynamic debates, attend meetings with diplomatic representatives from the countries they represent, and interact with UN and NGO leaders during Q&A sessions. This immersive experience is designed for both beginners and veterans looking to deepen their understanding of international affairs, problem-solving, and diplomacy.

NHSMUN serves as a platform for students to hone their negotiation and compromise skills, which are essential for future leaders. With a focus on real-world applications of diplomacy, the conference encourages participants to recognize their roles as global citizens. The training and resources provided by the conference team, including background guides and digital resources, ensure that students are well-prepared for the challenges of modern diplomacy.

NHSMUN not only emphasizes the importance of the skills learned at the conference but also inspires students to view their experiences as stepping stones toward leadership roles in the future. IMUNA, the organization behind NHSMUN, is dedicated to global issues education through simulation and has been a significant contributor to the understanding of international relations for over 50 years.
