NAAG/NASCO Conference

The NAAG/NASCO Conference, hosted by the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) and the National Association of State Charity Officials (NASCO), serves as the premier annual gathering for charity regulators, nonprofit organizations, as well as their attorneys, accountants, fundraisers, and advisors. This conference is a unique opportunity for attendees to engage in discussions about current issues affecting the nonprofit sector and share insights with regulators and other experts. The conference encourages participation from a broad audience and is actively soliciting ideas for workshops and presentations that will be beneficial to the sector. While the event aims to foster a collaborative learning environment, it is important to note that there is no budget available for speakers’ registration and travel expenses.In previous editions, such as in 2025, the conference covered a wide range of relevant topics including charitable fundraising practices, the challenges faced by religious organizations, ethical dilemmas encountered by charities with complex structures, and a review of activities and enforcement actions from across the country. Additionally, NAAG is offering a limited number of scholarships to selected participants from attorney general offices to facilitate their attendance at the training, although slots are not guaranteed. Interested parties can submit nominations for potential speakers or topics, with a deadline set for October 7, 2024, at Noon ET. For U.S. Supreme Court bar members, specific registration details are required, including legal names and bar numbers, to ensure compliance with seating arrangements in the court. NAAG will also apply for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits for attendees participating in the seminar, in accordance with accrediting body guidelines.
