Midwest Anesthesia Residents Conference

The Midwest Anesthesia Residents Conference (MARC) is a premier event hosted by the Association of Midwest Academic Anesthesia Chairs (AMAAC) in collaboration with the University of Western Ontario, Mayo Clinic, and the University of Minnesota. This significant gathering will take place at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis, attracting residents, fellows, faculty, and students from 36 different anesthesia departments across the Midwest. The conference is set to occur on April 16-18, 2027, and is recognized as the largest anesthesia resident conference in North America, with attendance sometimes exceeding 700 individuals each year. Participants will have the opportunity to present unique and medically challenging cases, alongside novel research and quality improvement projects. The MARC provides an exceptional platform for attendees to exchange ideas, educate their peers, compete for awards, and network in a friendly and educational atmosphere. This year's conference will continue the tradition of being a paperless event, utilizing a dedicated mobile device app for all presentations and submissions. E-Posters will be employed, eliminating the need for printing, and PowerPoint presentations will once again allow for video clips. Awards will be presented for first, second, and third places in various categories for both poster and oral presentations, with a special AMAAC monetary award designated for the Basic Science poster presentation category. The conference will also feature a social event on Saturday night, providing an excellent opportunity for attendees to engage with each other. Additionally, there will be ample opportunities to interact with industry representatives during a welcome reception and throughout the conference, further enhancing the networking experience. Door prizes will be awarded at the awards ceremony on Sunday, thanks to the support of various sponsors.
