The theme for the 2026 symposium, 'Meta-Research in Action: Implementing Better Science', aims to engage attendees from various institutional roles and disciplines, promoting awareness of ongoing meta-research initiatives across institutions.The keynote address for the event will be delivered by Dr. Dashun Wang, PhD, a prominent figure in the field and the Kellogg Chair of Technology at the Kellogg School of Management and McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern University. Dr. Wang is recognized for his pioneering work as the Founding Director of the Center for Science of Science and Innovation (CSSI), where he utilizes complexity sciences and artificial intelligence to investigate the transformative potential of the recent data explosion in scientific research. The symposium will also feature a comprehensive program of speakers, which will be announced at a later date. Participants are encouraged to submit their research in various formats, including poster or oral presentations, panels, or workshops, with topics encompassing education, training, culture change, epidemiology of research, research practice improvement, quality enhancement, and technology in research. Submissions will remain open until August 4 at 11:59 p.m., welcoming contributions across all meta-research themes, whether fundamental or applied. The inaugural NYU Meta-Research Symposium held in 2025 attracted over 200 attendees and featured diverse presentations from numerous departments and offices within NYU and collaborators from around the globe, showcasing the institution's growing leadership in the field of meta-research.
