Mass Road Safety Summit

The Mass Road Safety Summit is a significant statewide program held at Polar Park in Worcester, United States, aimed at high school students in Massachusetts. This summit serves as a unique platform for students to engage in meaningful discussions and interactive experiences focused on improving roadway safety. With the alarming statistics of young people being killed or seriously injured on roads, the summit emphasizes the critical role that students can play in advocating for safer driving behaviors within their communities.The event invites up to four students from Massachusetts high schools, specifically targeting sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from prominent experts in road safety and youth leadership development, including Jaime Tamayo, Chief Representative of Fundacion Mapfre USA and President & CEO of Mapfre USA, who will provide valuable insights during the summit. Additionally, Sarah Carmichael from MADD will open the program with a presentation that highlights the human stakes involved in road safety. The summit features a high-energy, game show-style program called ThinkFast, which addresses the issues of distracted and impaired driving in an engaging manner. Furthermore, Linda Johnson, AVP of Corporate Social Responsibility at Mapfre Insurance, will lead discussions on how these students can effectively promote changes in their schools and communities, empowering them to take action towards safer road practices.
