About
EducationLions International Convention
The Lions International Convention is a significant event organized by Multiple District 19 (MD19), which encompasses Lions and Leos from British Columbia, Canada, and the states of Idaho and Washington in the U.S. MD19, established in 1922, is dedicated to community service through its 400 clubs, serving approximately 10,000 members. This annual convention is a platform for Lions to gather, share experiences, and engage in leadership development, all while promoting the mission of Lions Clubs International, the world's largest community service organization.
For the upcoming Lions International Convention, MD19 will host various activities, including the District 19–L Leos annual convention in Richmond, British Columbia, and the District 19–I Lions annual convention in West Kelowna, British Columbia. Each event is designed to celebrate the achievements of Lions and strengthen community ties. Notably, the District 19–I Lions convention under the theme Ordinary People Doing Extraordinary Things will feature workshops, keynote speakers, and opportunities for networking among fellow Lions.
Additionally, the Northwest Lions Leadership Institute will offer a hands-on leadership experience in Chilliwack, British Columbia, focusing on practical skills for effective club management and community engagement. This institute is particularly beneficial for Lions looking to enhance their leadership capabilities and make a greater impact within their clubs and communities.
The conventions will not only highlight the accomplishments of Lions but also provide avenues for new member engagement and promote participation in service activities. Members are encouraged to report their service activities through the Lions Portal and engage in fundraising initiatives, such as the Smith CARE Fellowship. This fellowship recognizes outstanding contributions from club members and incentivizes clubs to support community programs.
Overall, the Lions International Convention and associated events present a unique opportunity for Lions to connect, learn, and celebrate their commitment to service.
