Labvocate Symposium

The Labvocate Symposium is an annual event organized in collaboration with several prominent organizations including the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), Association of Genetic Technologists (AGT), American Medical Technologists (AMT), the National Society for Histotechnology (NSH), and the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists-USA (PAMET-USA).

This symposium has a rich tradition that dates back to 1989, where laboratory professionals gather on Capitol Hill to engage with their representatives and senators. The main objective is to present a unified voice advocating for the profession, ensuring that their concerns are recognized at the congressional level.

Scheduled to take place at the Hilton Alexandria Old Town in Alexandria, Virginia, the Labvocate Symposium is designed for laboratory professionals at all career stages, making it accessible to first-time attendees as well as those who are seasoned in navigating legislative processes. The programming includes educational sessions that focus on lobbying techniques, empowering attendees with presentation skills to effectively communicate their concerns to congressional representatives.

Participants will receive pre-meeting communications outlining the topics to be discussed and will be equipped with materials to leave with legislative offices, facilitating ongoing conversations about the issues affecting the laboratory profession.
