The KGMS Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show is an annual event hosted by the Knoxville Gem & Mineral Society, attracting rock enthusiasts and lovers of gemstones, minerals, and fossils. This year marks the 35th edition of this celebrated show, which takes place at the Rothchild Catering venue in Knoxville, Tennessee. The event is set to welcome approximately 1,000 visitors and will feature 23 exhibitors showcasing a diverse array of products including unique jewelry, rare fossil specimens, meteorites, and an extensive selection of gems in various colors, shapes, and sizes.
In addition to these offerings, attendees can find lapidary and jewelry-making equipment among the displays. The show is designed to promote the appreciation of earth sciences, with a portion of the proceeds dedicated to educational initiatives. This includes scholarships for students at the University of Tennessee's Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences and East Tennessee State University's Geoscience Department.
With an admission fee of $8 per day for adults, or $15 for the entire duration of the event, children under the age of 12 enjoy free entry.
