Moreover, the course will address cultural considerations and change management strategies crucial for the successful implementation of Industry 4.0 in foundry settings.Participants will engage in two hands-on lab activities that reinforce the learning objectives. The first lab involves setting up and experimenting with a Raspberry Pi equipped with a temperature sensor, allowing students to collect and store data. The second lab offers coding experience for data analytics using Google Colab, enabling participants to process and visualize data from the initial lab and additional big data sets. By the end of the course, attendees will be better equipped to evaluate and implement Industry 4.0 strategies and action plans within their organizations. The event will be held at the American Foundry Society (AFS) in Schaumburg, United States, with a limited capacity of 22 students. The course will be led by David Blondheim, the Director of Global Operational Excellence and Advanced Manufacturing at Mercury Marine. Blondheim brings over 20 years of experience in manufacturing, coupled with his academic background in Mechanical Engineering, an MBA, and a Master's in Systems Engineering, specializing in high-pressure die-casting data systems and machine learning applications. His passion lies in advancing Industry 4.0 technologies, focusing on data connectivity, collection, and advanced analytics through machine learning, all aimed at enhancing manufacturing processes.
