Institute on Aging Annual Colloquium

The Institute on Aging Annual Colloquium is a prominent event hosted by the IOA, attracting a diverse audience from both the campus and the community. This free and public event showcases cutting-edge research in the field of aging, featuring local researchers who present their findings through talks and poster exhibits. The program includes a Keynote Address delivered by an internationally recognized leader in aging-related topics, addressing current and critical issues that impact the aging population. The Colloquium also highlights the contributions of junior scholars through the presentation of New Investigator Awards, which recognize outstanding achievement in aging or life course studies. Award winners receive a $500 prize, and their research is prominently displayed in the event's Poster Session.In addition to the engaging talks and poster presentations, the Colloquium hosts a Health and Resource Fair featuring a wide range of exhibitors. The event will showcase 2025 exhibitors, providing valuable resources and information related to aging. The Poster Session will present 2025 unique posters covering various aging-related topics that delve into psychosocial, biomedical, and clinical research. Participants can look forward to thought-provoking presentations such as the effects of loneliness on cognitive functioning in later life and the impact of cumulative stress on epigenetic aging, among many others. The Colloquium takes place at the Gordon Dining and Event Center in Madison, Wisconsin, offering accessibility via public transportation and nearby parking options. This annual gathering not only fosters knowledge sharing but also strengthens community engagement in addressing the challenges of aging.
