Implementation Science Symposium

The Implementation Science Symposium is a continuing education event hosted by Oklahoma Wesleyan University (OKWU) in collaboration with Hillcrest South. This dynamic one-day symposium invites nurses, healthcare professionals, researchers, and scholars to engage in transforming evidence into action. The symposium will delve into the principles and practices of implementation science, emphasizing their role in fostering meaningful change within the healthcare landscape. A significant focus of the event will be on servant leadership and its critical importance in advancing evidence-based practices, improving patient outcomes, and fostering innovation in healthcare systems.Participants can expect to engage in thought-provoking presentations, collaborative discussions, and practical sessions aimed at bridging the gap between research and real-world application. The event is approved for 6 continuing nursing education contact hours by Hillcrest South, an accredited provider of the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Among the notable speakers is Jim, a seasoned healthcare executive with over 15 years of senior leadership experience in both inpatient and ambulatory care settings. Jim holds a BA in Biology from the University of Northern Colorado and has earned a BSN and MBA from Regis University, along with a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Executive Leadership from Oklahoma Wesleyan University. Currently, he serves as the Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer for TRU Community Care, where he has been instrumental in various healthcare innovations.Exhibitors at the symposium will be provided with a table (6 ft x 3 ft) and two chairs, allowing them to showcase their services and products. To enhance attendee engagement, participants will receive a bingo card featuring the organizations' logos, encouraging visits to the exhibitors. Completed bingo cards will be entered into a drawing for a door prize, providing an interactive experience for attendees. Sponsorship opportunities include business names featured on printed sponsor posters and TV marquees, as well as recognition during introductions and the closing session.
