IALE-North America Annual Meeting

The IALE-North America Annual Meeting is organized by the IALE-North America, which was established in 1986 and transformed into its current form in 2019 to represent a broader multinational community that includes the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America. As the largest regional association under the International Association for Landscape Ecology (IALE), it aims to foster landscape ecology research and practice throughout North America.

The organization serves as a crucial link for individuals involved in landscape ecology, promoting interdisciplinary research and communication among scientists, planners, and professionals, and advocating for diversity and inclusion in the field.

The meeting will focus on the critical issues surrounding landscape ecology, especially in light of the ongoing global change challenges, such as climate change and biodiversity loss. It emphasizes the importance of understanding how human activities and natural disturbances shape landscapes and influence socio-ecological processes. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in professional interactions and training sessions designed to foster collaboration among diverse experts in ecology, geography, resource management, and landscape architecture.

The IALE-North America Annual Meeting also prioritizes student involvement, offering funding opportunities to support attendance and participation, while providing numerous social and networking events specifically tailored for students and early-career researchers. This creates an inclusive environment that nurtures the next generation of landscape ecologists and encourages knowledge sharing and collaboration across different fields.
