Highway Geology Symposium

Join us for the 75th annual Highway Geology Symposium at the Whitney Peak Hotel in Reno, Nevada. This symposium offers a unique opportunity for both new and experienced geo-professionals to exchange knowledge, collaborate, and network within a geologically diverse region. Participants will benefit from the facilities at the University of Nevada, Reno’s earthquake lab, which enhances the learning experience. The conference focuses on advancing geotechnical engineering, geological hazards, and infrastructure resilience through insightful presentations and discussions. Attendees will have the chance to earn multiple Professional Development Hours (PDHs) during this enriching event.The Highway Geology Symposium has a long-standing tradition spanning nearly 70 years, fostering participation from what is often referred to as 'Young Authors.' This involvement is crucial to the symposium's mission, showcasing fresh ideas and perspectives in the field. In recent years, the symposium has elevated the participation of young professionals by sponsoring a competition that offers financial support, registration benefits, and award recognition for outstanding contributions. Up to three awards will be presented annually, encouraging young authors to submit their abstracts and participate in this exciting opportunity.
