The Extreme Risk Takers Symposium Series, sponsored by the WSIA Education Foundation, offers a unique opportunity for students to delve into the wholesale, specialty, and surplus lines insurance industry. This series is particularly aimed at students pursuing studies in risk management, insurance, finance, or business but remains open to any student keen on exploring the dynamic landscape of the insurance sector. These elements come together to highlight the importance of this segment within the broader insurance industry.The Chicago event of the Extreme Risk Takers Symposium will take place at The Westin Michigan Avenue Chicago, hosted by Illinois State University's Katie School of Insurance and Risk Management. This symposium, along with others in the series, is also committed to supporting students from colleges with risk management and insurance programs that have been established for less than five years, offering special grants to facilitate attendance. Additionally, students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) or Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) that lack risk management or insurance programs are encouraged to apply for grants to support their participation.
