The eVOLve Conference, held at the Knoxville Convention Exhibition Center in Knoxville, United States, is a prominent event focusing on the future of behavioral health. This year's conference marked its fifth annual gathering and witnessed a record-breaking attendance, with nearly 500 attendees in person and over 600 joining online. The event is organized by the UT College of Social Work (UTCSW) and is known for being a platform where professionals in the behavioral health sector converge to share insights, strategies, and innovations.Frontier Health, recognized as the region's leading provider of behavioral health services, plays a pivotal role in this event. Since its inception in 1957, Frontier Health has dedicated itself to serving individuals with mental health, substance abuse, and developmental disabilities, among other areas. Last year alone, they provided services to over 69,000 individuals. The conference sessions are designed to explore the critical skills required to maintain high-quality care amid limited resources. Attendees can expect to learn practical strategies for innovation, emphasizing the importance of creative thinking and strategic planning in enacting meaningful changes without excessive financial burdens. A special emphasis will be placed on leveraging technology to enhance client care and improve provider work experiences.The conference features a diverse range of presentations from noted speakers in the field. Key sessions include 'The Effectiveness of the Communities That HEAL to Reduce Overdoses' presented by Bridget Freisthler, PhD, and 'Centering Joy: Rethinking School Discipline for Black Girls' led by Andrea Joseph-McCatty, PhD, MSW, MA, along with Dashawna J. Fussell-Ware, PhD, Alexandria C. Onuoha, PhD, and Kara James. Other notable topics include youth mental health disclosures on social media, AI storytelling for immigrant mental health, and the prioritization of well-being in trauma-informed spaces. The conference also addresses resilience in social work, particularly focusing on Black clinicians and the integration of artificial intelligence in social work practice and education.Attendees will gain insights on how to navigate challenging times while innovating and leading with compassion.
