About
EducationThe Early Music America Summit is a premier event designed to unite the early-music community from North and South America. Hosted at the University of Washington in Seattle, the Summit promises three days filled with stimulating presentations, performances, workshops, and networking opportunities. Scheduled for October 22-24, the event will feature a carefully curated array of sessions running from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM PDT each day. Notably, all sessions will be available for livestreaming, ensuring accessibility for a wider audience.A highlight of the Summit is the Young Performers Festival, which showcases collegiate and pre-college early-music ensembles from across the Americas. This festival has previously taken place at renowned early music festivals in leading locations such as Berkeley, CA, Bloomington, IN, and Boston, and this year it will be an integral part of the EMA Summit. Additionally, the Emerging Artists Showcase will feature early-music artists of any age who have not had frequent opportunities to perform at major festivals or concert series. This annual showcase has also been presented virtually and at previous festivals in Bloomington and Berkeley. The performance for the Emerging Artists Showcase is set for Friday, October 23 at 7:30 PM. Registration for the Summit provides access to all presentations and events, including concerts from prominent groups such as Sound Salon, the Seattle Bach Festival, and the Byrd Ensemble. Ticketing information for these performances will be released soon. Furthermore, the event includes options for pay-what-you-can day passes, making it accessible to a broader audience. Early Music America operates as a not-for-profit organization, and donations made to support the Summit are tax-deductible as permitted by law.
