This symposium focuses on the application of digital twin (DT) technology in urban design and planning, showcasing how AI-powered virtual replicas can support real-time monitoring, predictive modeling, and scenario testing. The event emphasizes the significance of Urban Digital Twins (UDTs) in representing the built environment at an urban scale, integrating both physical and non-physical elements to enhance urban planning and management. By providing a unified interface for all relevant information and services, UDTs aim to create more inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable urban environments. The transformative potential of UDTs in disaster response and climate resilience is a critical theme of the symposium, reflecting the urgent need for innovative technological solutions in urban management.A prominent speaker at the symposium is Carla, an urban theorist and storyteller with a strong background in architecture. She serves as the Assistant Director of the Florida Institute for Built Environment Resilience (FIBER) and is an Assistant Scholar at the School of Architecture at the University of Florida. Carla's research lies at the intersection of urbanism and environmental narratives, focusing on the impacts of climate change on communities. Her work includes storytelling as a method for research and community engagement, particularly within the Florida Resilient Cities Lab, where she explores spontaneous urban transformation. Currently, she leads the international project ReclaiMEDLand, which is funded by the Department of State of the United States of America.
