Desert Foot Conference

The Desert Foot Conference is an annual event held at the Sheraton Grand Phoenix, bringing together healthcare professionals to discuss the latest advancements in wound care and limb salvage. The most recent conference featured an impressive agenda led by Conference Chairman Dr. Robert Frykberg and Co-Chairs Drs. Charles Andersen, Matthew Garoufalis, and Thomas Serena. With over 40 esteemed faculty members presenting, participants gained insights into current trends and techniques in the field. A record 24 workshops provided attendees with hands-on experience, enriching their knowledge and skills in wound treatment and prevention.Among the highlights was the presentation of the 2025 Desert Foot Paul Brand Award to Caroline Fife, MD, FAAFP, CWS, recognizing her contributions to the field. The conference also honored excellence in research through the Abstract Poster Awards, with notable winners in both Resident and Non-Resident categories. In the Resident Category, Staten Island University Hospital won 1st place, followed by Nazareth Hospital and Golden Valley Memorial Hospital. In the Non-Resident Category, the top award went to a facility in Seoul, Korea, with Clinton, MO, and San Antonio, TX, taking the subsequent positions. The event fostered collaboration among practitioners from various disciplines, enhancing the educational experience for all involved. Attendees expressed appreciation for the well-organized program, the abundance of vendors showcasing cutting-edge technology, and the rich networking opportunities that led to meaningful discussions about best practices in patient care.
