CSS International Conference

The CSS International Conference is the premier annual gathering for computational social scientists, aimed at exploring cutting-edge research and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. The conference, hosted at the Drury Plaza Hotel in Santa Fe, invites researchers from diverse backgrounds to contribute to the growing field of computational social science (CSS). The CSSSA (Computational Social Science Society of America) defines CSS as the theory-driven application of computational methods to analyze, model, and simulate social systems. This encompasses the analysis of large-scale social data, exploration of underlying social dynamics through simulation, and connection of insights to social science theory. The conference particularly encourages submissions that demonstrate real-world impacts of applied computational social science, especially in light of advances in artificial intelligence and machine learning.CSS2026 will cover a wide range of topics, including but not limited to, tools and frameworks for CSS, AI-assisted model generation and evaluation, hybrid approaches combining agent-based models with machine learning, big data analytics, and new datasets related to CSS. Furthermore, the conference seeks contributions on machine learning for social data analysis, natural language processing in CSS research, and applied CSS in policy and governance. Other areas of interest include the social impacts of AI, techniques in policy development, and institutional design improvements. The Program Committee invites original papers, extended abstracts, and posters on computational models and analysis of social phenomena, ensuring all submissions undergo a peer-review process. Additionally, there will be special interest group (SIG) sessions prior to the full conference, providing opportunities for tutorials, workshops, and hackathons.The conference will also feature awards such as the Epistemix Social Science Impact Award and Student Fellowship Awards aimed at supporting students presenting at the event.
