About
EducationThe Conductors Symposium is an immersive two-day event designed for conductors at all levels to enhance their skills in technique, repertoire, score study, and rehearsal concepts. Set in the UCF Art Gallery in Orlando, this symposium welcomes participants to engage in a rich learning environment, fostering camaraderie and musical growth. Participants can choose to register as Conductors for $150 or as non-conducting Participants for $100. Notably, conductor slots are limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, with any additional conductor applicants placed on a waiting list. However, there is no cap on the number of Participants, ensuring inclusive access to all who wish to learn and grow in their conducting abilities.Throughout the symposium, conductors will enjoy two 20-minute podium times with the UCF Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band, allowing for practical application of their learning. All attendees, regardless of registration status, will participate in a variety of interactive conducting sessions, topic discussions, and panel presentations. Additionally, school directors whose students are involved in the 2026 Knights Rising High School Honor Band can benefit from a special coupon code, enabling them to register under Participant Status for free. The schedules for the Conductors Symposium and the Knights Rising High School Honor Band are thoughtfully coordinated to enhance the educational experience, allowing directors to maximize their learning opportunities. Upon registration, participants will receive a repertoire list to select two works for their conducting sessions, and they will also have the chance to review their conducting videos with a clinician immediately after their sessions. Daily seminar sessions will cover essential topics including conducting technique, literature, and specialized themes, further enriching the educational experience.
