CNCF Maintainer Summit

The CNCF Maintainer Summit is a specialized gathering dedicated to the individuals who contribute to cloud-native projects, providing an opportunity for face-to-face collaboration and celebration of these initiatives. This exclusive event aims to empower maintainers by sharing best practices, discussing contributing processes, and addressing common challenges faced across various projects.

The summit is structured to enhance the community of maintainers and will feature multiple tracks focusing on essential topics such as standards for production readiness, API design, project management strategies, and techniques for expanding contributor bases. Participants can engage in presentations, panels, and workshops, each lasting approximately 35 minutes and designed to foster interactive discussions and idea sharing.

In addition to the main sessions, the event emphasizes the importance of inclusivity by requiring that any submission involving more than two presenters includes at least one non-male identifying individual. The summit encourages active participation from Graduated Project Maintainers and Org Members, as attendance is limited to those already engaged in projects due to the high number of CNCF Project Org members.

For those not listed as eligible attendees, pathways to contribute and enhance their standing within the community are encouraged, including sponsorship opportunities from existing maintainers or project leads. Ultimately, the CNCF Maintainer Summit serves as a vital platform for maintainers to connect, exchange knowledge, and collaboratively shape the future of cloud-native technologies.
