About
EducationThe Children's Business Fair is a unique platform designed for children aged 7 to 16 years to launch their very own businesses. Held at Stratford School in Pleasanton, this event serves as an inspiring opportunity for young entrepreneurs to develop their brand, create a product or service, and build a marketing strategy before presenting their offerings at a vibrant one-day marketplace. The fair is expected to attract around 1,500 visitors and will feature approximately 40 exhibitors, offering a rich environment for learning and interaction.Sponsored by Acton Academy with the generous support of donors and volunteers, the Children's Business Fair aims to instill the values of entrepreneurship in the next generation. By showcasing their businesses, children gain hands-on experience in selling, customer interaction, and the overall dynamics of running a business. Each participant will have access to a booth equipped with a 6-foot table and two chairs, providing them a professional setup to engage with potential customers. The fair promotes a fair market environment where multiple businesses, even with similar concepts, can coexist, allowing the natural competition of ideas to flourish. Parents are encouraged to support their younger children but are asked to ensure that the children take the lead in executing their business plans. This event not only nurtures entrepreneurial skills but also celebrates the spirit of innovation and community service, reminiscent of the fair's origins back in 2007 in Austin, Texas, where it began with merely seven young entrepreneurs.
