Chief Resident Leadership Development Program

The Chief Resident Leadership Development Program (CRLDP) is a unique national initiative designed specifically for family medicine chief residents, aimed at enhancing their leadership capabilities. With over 30 years of experience, the program offers an interactive educational experience tailored to empower chief residents, providing them with the tools necessary to become effective leaders within their residency programs. This program is recognized as the only national program of its kind in the United States, ensuring that participants receive targeted education that is crucial for their professional development.The CRLDP commences with an in-person meeting in Kansas City, where chief residents will engage with peers and seasoned educators who serve as mentors throughout the program. This initial meeting is followed by a workshop held in the fall during the AAFP’s Family Medicine Experience (FMX). The program encourages the formation of a supportive cohort among chief residents, allowing them to share experiences and strategies that have proven successful in their respective programs.
