BSides Bloomington

BSides Bloomington is an annual conference focused on Information Security, taking place at the Monroe Convention Center in Bloomington, United States. This year's theme, Insert Coin to Opt Out, encourages participants to reclaim control over their digital lives in an era where free services often come at the cost of personal data and attention. The event will explore how to build systems that prioritize user empowerment, highlighting the importance of intentional choices in the tools we use and viewing security as a means of empowerment rather than a hindrance.

With an arcade aesthetic that harkens back to the roots of hacker culture, the conference aims to foster curiosity, play, and experimentation while addressing the challenges posed by emerging technologies and pervasive platforms.

Participants can look forward to two days filled with insightful talks, hands-on workshops, and interactive villages designed to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of Information Security. The event is open to a diverse audience, including students, professionals, and those simply curious about the subject matter. As a volunteer-run initiative, BSides Bloomington encourages community involvement, seeking volunteers for various roles and responsibilities.

Additionally, sponsorship and donations are welcomed to support the conference's mission of making information sharing accessible and enjoyable. Through these collaborative efforts, BSides Bloomington continues to build on its legacy of providing a platform for meaningful discussion and learning in the security community.
