BioFest: Invest

BioFest: Invest is an annual spring event held in San Antonio, United States, designed to connect potential investors with Texas bioscience companies seeking investment funding. This day-long event serves as a platform for sharing best practices, forging valuable connections, and providing insightful advice tailored for the bioscience industry. Attendees will have access to a lineup of relevant speakers and panelists who will discuss critical topics pertinent to bioscience companies.

Additionally, various organizations that support bioscience entrepreneurs will be present to provide information and resources, enhancing the event's value for participants.

A key highlight of BioFest: Invest is the opportunity for selected companies to present their pitch decks after undergoing a rigorous screening process. During the event, investors can view these company pitches and engage with representatives live or virtually. Among the twelve finalists competing for the Best Pitch honors, the winner is developing an innovative 3D-printed extracorporeal blood oxygenation device aimed at optimizing blood flow and improving gas exchange during critical care.

This groundbreaking technology utilizes advanced internal geometries enabled by additive manufacturing, which seeks to minimize clotting and blood trauma, thereby reducing complications and enhancing patient outcomes. The runner-up pitch focuses on a device for continuous kidney monitoring, designed for the early detection of hospital-acquired acute kidney injury.

Furthermore, sponsors of BioFest: Invest are presented with a unique opportunity to support the bioscience entrepreneurial community while gaining corporate awareness. They can also receive a dedicated 1.5-hour block to host an in-person or hybrid workshop, contributing to the event's educational component and engagement.
