ASP Instructor Certification Courses (AIC)

The ASP Instructor Certification Courses (AIC) provide a specialized training opportunity for law enforcement officers, military personnel, private security, and other pre-qualified participants. These courses are offered at no cost to the law enforcement community and are designed to enhance the skills and knowledge necessary for the safe performance of their duties. Participants can expect comprehensive training that aligns with ASP's commitment to high standards in design, quality, and reliability. Over the past fifty years, ASP has focused on providing the finest tools and industry-leading training to ensure that officers are equipped to handle their responsibilities effectively. The courses take place at Houston Community College and include a variety of optional OC Instructor Certifications scheduled throughout the year. For instance, there are multiple classes offered in July, August, September, October, and December, with specific dates for each session. Enrollment for each class closes 30 days prior to the class date, and while most AICs fill quickly, a waitlist system is in place to manage demand. Some of these programs are designated as private AIC courses, which may incur a nominal fee. Participants are required to pay a refundable security deposit upon application, which ensures commitment to the course, as deposits can be forfeited if someone cancels within 30 days or does not show up. Aspiring instructors should take note of the rigorous application process and the importance of timely registration to secure their spot in these critical training sessions.
