Annual Little Rock Marathon

The Annual Little Rock Marathon is a significant event that includes Logan's Run, which serves as a kick-off to the All Abilities Marathon. This program is specifically designed for individuals of all ages with intellectual, developmental, and/or physical disabilities, allowing them to participate in a non-competitive environment. Participants will receive a medal and t-shirt on race day, providing a sense of achievement and celebration for their efforts.

The All Abilities Marathon encourages individuals to stay active and reach personal fitness milestones, with a structured plan that includes walking, running, or rolling over the weeks leading up to the marathon weekend. The culmination of their preparation is the final mile, which takes place on the official Little Rock Marathon course, allowing every participant to cross the same finish line as traditional marathoners.

The event is dedicated to the memory of Logan Bussard, who made significant contributions to the disability community as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. Having begun his career in special education, Logan transitioned into inclusive and adaptive recreation, ultimately focusing on recreational therapy. His dedication to helping individuals with disabilities reach their fullest potential is honored through this event.

With a strong belief in the importance of goal-setting and participation, Logan aimed to create opportunities for children of all abilities to experience the Little Rock Marathon. The program embodies his passion and ideals, ensuring that his legacy continues to inspire and empower participants. The event also features an Expo and Packet Pick-Up, enhancing the overall experience for attendees and participants.

With official hashtags such as #LRMarathon, #LR262, and #LR131, the event encourages social media engagement to share the love and excitement surrounding this remarkable marathon experience.
