Annual Illinois Association of Problem-Solving Courts Conference

The Annual Illinois Association of Problem-Solving Courts Conference convened in East Peoria, bringing together a diverse group of 573 participants who engaged in discussions centered around problem-solving courts and their certification processes. The conference served as a platform for attendees to gain valuable insights into the Illinois Problem-Solving Court Standards & Certification Process, which was officially approved by the Supreme Court in November 2015. This process mandates that all adult problem-solving courts in Illinois receive certification prior to their establishment, ensuring compliance with state standards.The conference featured influential members of the Illinois Association of Problem-Solving Courts (ILAPSC), including board officers and directors representing various counties across the state. These professionals encompass a wide range of roles, including judiciary members, attorneys, probation officers, and specialists in substance abuse and mental health. Notable organizations such as NAMI and TASC were also present, highlighting the collaborative effort among agencies dedicated to the improvement of problem-solving courts. Attendees were encouraged to actively participate in discussions, share their evaluations, and provide feedback, which will inform the planning for the next annual conference.
