Annual FLEPRU Training Conference

The Annual FLEPRU Training Conference is a significant event organized by the Florida Law Enforcement Property Recovery Unit (FLEPRU), which has been redefining property crime investigations since its inception in 1987. FLEPRU originated in the Tampa Bay area when a dedicated group of property recovery detectives sought to tackle the persistent issue of property crimes by enhancing the recovery of stolen items and bringing offenders to justice. This initiative has grown into a vital organization that addresses a range of property crime issues through innovative approaches and collaborative efforts among law enforcement agencies across Florida.The conference serves as a platform for statewide training, where attendees can engage with expert guest instructors, including state legislators, judges, private sector executives, and subject matter experts. The curriculum focuses on contemporary challenges such as Organized Retail Crime (ORC), auto and marine investigations, social media investigations, economic and cybercrimes, robbery investigations, and crucial mental health topics for professionals in the field. The event also showcases cutting-edge technology from leading solution providers, which is essential for enhancing investigative practices. FLEPRU aims to build cooperative relationships among municipal, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies and emphasizes the importance of public-private partnerships within the law enforcement and retail sectors.
