Annual Elder Law Forum

The 31st Annual Elder Law Forum took place at The Desmond Hotel in Albany, bringing together a diverse group of professionals dedicated to addressing the challenges faced by aging and vulnerable populations. This year's forum attracted record attendance and featured a collaborative atmosphere, inviting contributions from attorneys, health care providers, policymakers, financial professionals, advocates, social workers, and caregivers. The central focus of the forum was on urgent legal and policy shifts affecting care, access, and planning for the elderly. Key topics discussed included the legislative response to the Governor’s Budget, changes to New York’s Medicaid programs, and the pressing question of home care sustainability.Esteemed speakers at the event included Dr. McDonald, MD, MPH, the Commissioner of the New York State Department of Health, along with representatives from the New York State Office for the Aging (NYSOFA). Additional notable contributors included Diane Mickle Gotebiowski, PT, DPT, Vice President of Residential Services for St. Peter’s Health Partners, and a certified health and wellness coach, Coach Benita.
