Airports Going Green Conference

The Airports Going Green Conference (AGG) is a pivotal event in the aviation industry focused on sustainability, co-hosted by the Chicago Department of Aviation and the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). This renowned forum has garnered international recognition, attracting participants from various sectors including airport executives, airline leaders, government officials, and sustainability experts.

Attendees engage in crucial discussions with airport business partners and top-tier speakers from around the globe, fostering collaboration and innovation in sustainable practices. The conference draws representatives from over 30 airports worldwide, including countries such as Canada, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, alongside nearly 250 participants from the United States and a diverse audience reach extending to Nigeria and Ghana.

An important highlight of the conference is the Airports Going Green Awards, established in 2010 to honor exceptional leadership in sustainability within the aviation sector. The awards recognize individuals and projects that significantly contribute to sustainable practices at airports. This year, nominees are evaluated based on their innovation, leadership, and ambition, with awards presented in several categories, including recognition for an airport's sustainability champion, outstanding tenant or vendor programs, sustainable design or construction projects, and airline sustainability initiatives.

The AGG Awards Luncheon serves as a platform to announce the winners, thereby celebrating achievements that inspire peers and stakeholders in the pursuit of sustainability. Additionally, the conference offers exhibitors and sponsors a valuable opportunity to showcase their commitment to sustainable aviation practices, facilitating connections with industry experts and promoting responsible initiatives.
