Ageing&HIV A multidisciplinary meeting on HIV and Ageing

The event titled Ageing&HIV: A Multidisciplinary Meeting on HIV and Ageing is designed to facilitate collaboration among healthcare and allied professionals, as well as community members, with a focus on enhancing care for individuals ageing with HIV. This one-day meeting aims to bring together experts in the field to exchange knowledge and discuss strategies for managing the complexities associated with HIV and ageing. The event is organized by CHAIN UKI, a coalition comprising healthcare professionals and researchers dedicated to optimizing care for older individuals living with HIV. The coalition includes geriatricians, HIV specialists, physiotherapists, pharmacists, and nurses from across the UK and Ireland, fostering a multidisciplinary approach to tackling the challenges faced by this demographic.Participants will have the opportunity to submit abstracts for presentations that address real-world cases and research related to ageing and HIV. The event will feature two interactive sessions: one simulating a multidisciplinary team (MDT) setting focusing on comprehensive geriatric assessment through case discussions, and another providing a platform for broader research presentations on ageing. Presentations will be delivered as 10-minute oral sessions, encouraging questions and discussions among attendees. Additionally, travel scholarships are available for those attending from outside the local area, with priority given to early-career healthcare and allied professionals. The event is also expected to offer continuing professional development (CPD) credits, building on the previous year's approval by the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom.
