Acton Children' s Business Fair

The Acton Children's Business Fair in Conyers, Georgia, is an inspiring event designed for children to experience entrepreneurship firsthand. This unique marketplace allows kids to launch their own startup business, where they can develop a brand, create a product or service, and implement a marketing strategy. The event is proudly sponsored by Acton Academy and the Acton School of Business, along with generous contributions from donors and volunteers who believe in nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit in the next generation. The fair aims to inspire children by showcasing the stories of famous entrepreneurs and local unsung heroes who make significant contributions to their communities.As North America's largest entrepreneurship event for children, the Acton Children's Business Fair provides an incredible platform for young entrepreneurs to showcase their businesses. With participation limited to no more than two children per business, participants are encouraged to think critically about various aspects of their enterprise, such as product development, funding strategies, marketing plans, and measures of success. Each child is assigned a booth that includes an 8-foot table, shared with another young entrepreneur, and the necessary tenting and seating. However, exhibitors should note that electricity will not be provided, emphasizing the hands-on experience of running a business. Parent involvement is limited to facilitating setup, while the children are expected to manage customer interactions and sales independently, ensuring an authentic entrepreneurial experience.The Acton Children's Business Fair originated in Austin, Texas, in 2007, thanks to the vision of Jeff and Laura Sandefer and a few dedicated families. From a modest beginning with seven entrepreneurs and around 25 attendees, the event has grown significantly, now attracting over 115 young entrepreneurs and approximately 1,500 attendees in Austin alone. This fair not only fosters a sense of wonder and creativity in children but also promotes essential skills such as business planning and marketing. The event is open to participants of diverse backgrounds, and it emphasizes equality and inclusivity in its mission to empower young business minds.
